Clayton’s Baptism

Well, we did it.  I am so pooped. This week was one of the most stressful of my mish for sure.  Just stressing the whole week that Clayton would make it to his own baptism. We did the program, the treats, the setting up, all of it. But he came.  The program on Saturday went really well! It was awesome and we actually had a nice little turn out. He’s such a good guy! The bishop mixed up the water of the font and it was ice cold! I got in and got out pretty fast. And then Clayton came on Sunday and we confirmed him! It’s so funny, people come up to him and speak German and he just stares at them like “I don’t know what you’re saying” but they just keep talking to him.  It was really awesome. The day before the baptism we were just talking with him making sure everything was good to go and we were like “well, do you have any questions?” and he was like “ya…does the baptism come from God?” and we were just like “….ya” and he was like “then no I don’t have any questions” He is sooo sick! So strong in his faith! I’m really happy for Clayton. And he is really really wanting to pass the sacrament soon!

It’s funny cause like ya, I served in Bonn which is way sick and way fun. And now I’m in Unna which is not sick and not that fun. But when I think back to Bonn I think of the people, not the city. And I have met some way sweet peeps here in Unna. Like I just don’t really care about WHERE I serve, I just care about WHO I serve.

I am doing really great. The work is going forward so that’s all that matters.

I love you all. Have a great week!

Tied the German Record

So ya transfer calls were on Saturday and they announced that we’re staying. This week was pretty good.  It consisted of a lot of driving but on Thursday we went and had a ward day down by this lake and all day we were just chilling by this lake and there were sailboats (couldn’t ride them unfortunately) and we hiked this whole lake and it really was just a fantastic day! Way scenic and it was just great. Lots of fun. And through that we met a family of 5. The Pöntens. They are a little weird but super super friendly and have tons of potential. I’ve never taught a whole family before so I’m a little nervous. It’ll be great though.

Then ya Saturday we had calls. The night before I really poured my heart out to Heavenly Father. It was quite the conversation lol. I just asked to know that whatever happened, I would know that it was right. And that’s what happened. I totally knew that it’s what is supposed to happen. So I can’t really argue with that.

Then, sickest news of the week. We had Ward council and I brought up Clayton. He is wayyy ready to be baptized and it just needs to happen. And the ward was just complaining and complaining. And Watts wasn’t even in there to help me. I was the only one in there. And I was just praying that their hearts would be softened. And finally they were complaining so much I was just like “look, this guy’s ready. And Elder Watts and I are gonna baptize him on Saturday. You’re all invited.” That didn’t stop the complaining but sure enough, Saturday at 10:00 Clayton is getting baptized! It’ll be so sweet. Clayton has such a good heart and I know everything will go great.

Also a little side note, we tied the German record for having investigators at sacrament meeting. We had 10 people show up. I wanted to cry. It was crazy. TEN. It was nuts. And that is the record for all of Germany. I’m pretty confident we can get one more though.

But ya, I’m all good over here.

Thanks for the prayers, I sure can use them.

Have a great week! Love you all

Well it was pretty sweet to talk to you all. Sad I didn’t get a chance to talk to Jordan and Adam though.  You all looked and sounded great and happy.  I don’t have much to report this week just cause I already told you guys everything. But this upcoming week should be pretty good. We find out on Saturday what’s happening with Watts and me. Idk what else to write. I feel like we talked about everything yesterday. Next week I should have a lot more.  Well I love you all.

Well another week down. Not much else to say.

This week was busy and filled with some cool stuff I guess. Probably my favorite miracle of the week was on Friday though. So we get this referral for this guy named Clayton. He comes out of Nigeria. He is so sick. But his English is just like hard to understand. Anyway, I’m calling him n stuff and he’s giving us street addresses and all this crap and it’s just killing me.  We’re driving around like crazy and we can’t find this guy. Eventually, we find him. He’s so sick. We go into his apartment and we start talking and actually his whole fam is members back in Nigeria. He knows a lot about the church and his faith is sooo strong in Jesus Christ. And he was just saying how much he loves this church. and so finally I was like “well how bout you get baptized on the 16th of May!” and he was like “that would be wonderful” so I’m just on a high walking out of there. so pumped. then I’m like “Elder do you wanna call pres or should I?” and he’s like “I don’t think we know enough about him to have an actual date”  It’s nuts. But that’s not the end of the story.  Then Saturday we went to bishop’s house and did garden work for like 3 hrs. Oh man my knees were numb it was crazy. So dead. Just like pulling weeds for hours. So fun. Then I held their turtle and that was kinda cool.  Then on Sunday, I wanna go by Clayton again and set another date. Then we show up and his roommate is there named Jo. Well, we start talking to him and he’s like wayyyy faithful in Jesus. And now like has so much interest to hear what we have to say. And we talked to Clayton more and now he’s getting baptized May 16th!! YES. IT’S HAPPENING. And I know that his friend Jo will follow shortly after.

So that was a big blessing.

So that’s life over here right now. Nothing too exciting.

It was kinda sad this weekend not being there for the wedding I’ll admit. I thought about it a lot. But it happens. What can I do?

I love you all. Transfers are in two weeks, but I think we’re staying together for another. Just keep praying for me, that should be enough.

I started this new thing. We’ve been having a ton of random rain storms lately. Like it’ll be all sunny then boom just like downpour. So I went and bought like 5 umbrellas and now when we’re driving and I see a person who doesn’t have anything and is just getting soaked I pull over jump out and run it up to them. I wish I had a pic of all their faces. So priceless. Good stuff.

Well I’ll catch ya next week I guess.

PS no pics from the wedding? are you all high??
