What a week! So crazy. Busy busy busy!
So, on Wednesday I took a 3 1/2 hr bus ride down to Frankfurt. It was great. Frankfurt is awesome! Then I saw Ad at president’s home! We ate dinner there and all that stuff and had a meeting. Then we went to the hotel and got our room together! For like the rest of the night it was just me & Ad in a hotel room just chatting about life. And I gotta say, that was one of my favorite experiences as a missionary and my life. We were just sitting on our beds, and we were just talking about missionary work and our mission life and all that stuff. Well we ended up just kinda bearing our testimonies to each other. And it was so sweet. Ad has such a strong testimony! I just kinda stopped and thought “ok here we are. Me n my bff. On our missions. In a hotel room alone in Frankfurt Germany. What more do I want?” I am so grateful for that opportunity! It was so great! I love life!
Then on Thursday is when we found out who our “goldens” (that’s what they call new missionaries here, so when I say golden I’m talking about my new comp lol) were. My new comp’s name is Elder Ewing! He’s from Springville! All I wanted was a Utah kid. So great. But anyway he’s a way good guy! Then I saw one of my fav Elders and we got to ride a bus another 3 1/2 hrs up to Dortmund! So I got to talk to him the whole time! Then we got back to Unna and we just talked a little. I told him that whenever he feels like he’s not having fun, just tell me. I told him by the end of our time together he would love his mission. So now I just get to focus on making this kid’s mission great! Fun & effective! The best way to do it!
Ugh and on Friday it was my very first day driving the car. And I was pretty nervous. I haven’t been behind the wheel for almost 10 months now. Little rusty. Well, this Audi comes speeding up behind me and so I speed up and right as I do I see this flash. In Germany instead of cops pulling you over, they have these boxes on the side of the road called “Blitz boxes” and when you’re going too fast it takes a pic of you and you get a ticket. Well I got a ticket. It was only like 14 kph over and that’s like nothing (15 euros) but ugh I’m pretty embarrassed.
Anyway, Saturday was soooo much fun! We had a ward party and it was just a blast! Tons of people and we had 7 investigators show up! There was this way crazy moment though. Lol I was playing ping pong with a member and all these kids were watching and the member spikes it and it NAILED me in the forehead and as that happened this little German 9 yr old goes “Head shot Bitch!” …..I was so speechless! LOL part of me wanted to laugh but part of me was just like woah! Like these kids can’t speak English at all but somehow they just know those phrases. So nuts. But it was great! It was just a nice relaxing time and Elder Ewing met the whole ward. He gets along. I feel bad for him though. I remember starting my mish out and it wasn’t too easy so I just have to be patient with him. It’ll get better!
One thing I have noticed is that we don’t have anything in common! He’s a way nice guy and isn’t a jerk or anything. But it’s all good!! Life goes onnnnn!!
My back took a drastic turn for the worse this week. Really bad. Can’t stand straight for a few minutes after standing up. The pain has extended lower and gotten bigger. Sheesh just can’t catch a break. Lol.
Love you all, and keep me in your prayers!!
